We have this really great book: My First 100 Words in Spanish. A good friend of mine gave it to Sys when she was just a wee babe. My girls have started looking through it a lot lately.
Last night, they wondered if it really had 100 words in it. They started counting the words on the word list at the back of the book. All was going along nicely.
1, 2, 3, 4.......24, 25, 26.........57, 58, 59.........99, 100, 101, 102......
They missed a number or two, but were moving along nicely. But then their counting started to get a bit sketchy. But I'm okay with that.....they made the transition from 99 to 100 and on to 101. That's GREAT! That's progress.
So they continue their counting, missing large dozens of numbers at a time, and finally get to 199.
Do you want to know what comes after 199?
2,000,000,000.
Yes, that's right. Not 200, 2 BILLION.
I guess they missed the fact that it is ONE HUNDRED words in Spanish.
