Growing Up

Sys made a grand announcement at breakfast this morning.

"Hey, Mom.  You only have 6 more years of me being a kid."

WHAT???  What is my crazy girl talking about????

She continues....oblivious to my panic about my baby growing up too fast.

"In 6 years, I will be almost 13.  I'll be in high school.  I'll be a grown up."

WHAT???  Surely it will be much longer till my sweet baby is in high school!  Right???

She continues......still oblivious to the state of anxiety that is growing with in me.

"But don't worry.  I'll still come home and sleep here every night.  Cause I love you."

Whew.  Perhaps she won't grow up so fast after all.  She'll be my baby forever.  She'll always want to sleep at home....my home.


Right?
